We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as an integral part of our IV ketamine therapy program for depression treatment. The chosen candidate will play a crucial role in administering IV ketamine treatments, monitoring patients' progress, and ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the treatment process.
Requirements:
- Administer IV ketamine treatments to patients as prescribed by our medical team
- Perform thorough assessments of patients prior to each treatment to ensure their suitability for ketamine therapy.
- Monitor patients closely during and after IV ketamine administration, assessing vital signs and mental state
- Collaborate with the medical team to adjust treatment protocols based on individual patient responses
- Ensure the proper preparation, administration, and disposal of ketamine and related equipment in accordance with established protocols and safety guidelines
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients undergoing treatment, addressing any questions or concerns they may have
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting treatment details, progress, and any adverse reactions
- Educate patients and their families about the ketamine treatment process, potential side effects, and post-treatment care Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to nursing practice and medication administration
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with advancements in ketamine therapy and psychiatric nursing practices.
Qualifications
- Valid and current RN licensure in the state of Montana
- Minimum of 1 years of nursing experience, preferably with experience in psychiatric or mental health settings
- Certification or training in IV therapy and medication administration
- Strong understanding of depression and related mental health conditions
- Ability to assess patients' physical and emotional well-being accurately
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care and address patient concerns
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong ethical standards and commitment to patient safety and confidentiality
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, as required
