Position Summary:
Mozamo is seeking a Resident Engineer/Structure Representative in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA. The Resident Engineer/Structure Representative manages all aspects of field and office engineering work related to the administration of construction projects to include conducting field inspections and documenting observations of construction as it progresses for civil projects related to civil infrastructure such as roadways, highways, bridges, and overpasses.
Responsibilities:
- Acts as a single point of contact between field personnel and clients.
- Builds and maintains positive working relationships.
- Manage quality assurance activities for large infrastructure projects including source inspection.
- Exercised engineering judgement in providing quality assurance recommendations.
- Ensures project documentation is retrievable and processed in a timely manner.
- Prepares and reviews technical and inspection reports.
- Manages and maintains pertinent contract documents and references specific to the project.
- Ensures all contract work is in compliance with contract documents.
- Performs risk assessment analyses of construction materials for use on large infrastructure projects.
- Reviews and responds to submittals and RFIs.
- Anticipates and resolves any issues associated with material source inspection and QA activities and help support effective materials management for construction projects.
- Coordinates and communicates with the Resident Engineers, Structure Representatives, construction contractors, suppliers, and vendors on roadway and structural materials issues for construction projects.
- Conducts meetings with appropriate project personnel to identify materials related issues and recommend solutions consistent with project plans and specifications.
- Perform other duties as required.

- Ability to make good decisions using professional judgment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- California Professional Engineer license required.
- Bachelor of Science degree in civil or structural engineering required.
- 5 years of professional experience as a Resident Engineer (RE) or Structure Representative (SR) required.
- Proficient using computer software programs in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must apply safety philosophy and program to all operations.
- Valid California Driver’s License required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience managing Caltrans projects.
- Knowledge and experience with Caltrans specifications.
- Proficient using computer scheduling software programs (P3, P6, Sure Trak, Microsoft Projects).
- Relevant industry certifications (ACI Field Technician I, QSP, etc.).
