Summit County is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to join the Clerk’s Office as a Part-Time Deputy Clerk. This position performs a variety of entry-level clerical tasks and provides exceptional customer service to support the day-to-day operations of the County Clerk’s Office. The successful candidate will work closely with the public and County staff, supporting core functions such as record management, licensing, and elections. Some duties may include assisting with election processes during election cycles. May hire a Deputy Clerk I, II, or III depending on submitted qualifications and experience. SALARY RANGE
Deputy Clerk I - $20.50 - $28.34/hourly - see below (full job description attached)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduation from high school with some course work emphasis in computer skills and general office procedures.
- Must possess a valid Utah driver’s license.
- May be required to become a certified election official by the state of Utah.
- Must be able to work extended hours during election season.
- Must pass a criminal background check and be insurable.
- Spanish language proficiency a plus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Business Licensing: Assists the public to obtain business licenses; answers questions and correspondence received by telephone, mail or email; accepts applications and receives fees; issues licenses according to established processes and procedures; monitors status of business licenses and ensures timely annual renewal; issues renewal notices; researches and tracks various business activity; maintains business licensing records and database.
- Office Support: Performs general counter functions as well as telephone support in assisting the public to complete applications for marriage licenses, business licenses, alcohol licenses, special event licenses, passports, voter registration and related public documents; processes applications and documentation according to established procedures. May assist in record keeping of the county fleet titles, yearly inspections, and distribution of vehicle insurance cards. May assist in maintaining and ordering office supplies and materials.
- Election Support: Assists County Clerk in necessary preparations for elections; such as updating the voter registration database; may assist in the training of poll workers in responsibilities and duties; provides polling places with supplies; informs the public on issues and questions related to elections; assists in ballot processing.
- May coordinate document record preservation complying with state archiving regulations and requirements; monitors OnBase archiving program to assure compliance with retention schedules in conjunction with the County Information Technology Department. May assist with record retention and storage of all records maintained by the County Clerk according to state and federal law. May assist with annexation communication and documentation.
