Pay Rate:
The pay rate for this job is $16 - $16 / hour*
What you'll be doing as an Animal Care Assistant:
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, enrichment, andbehavior modification
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, work areas, and equipment inaccordance with established health and safety protocols
- Assist with animal intake which may include, physical exams, blood draw,administering vaccines, or running diagnostic testing
- Observe animals and document signs of illness, injury, or behavioralconcerns according to shelter procedures
- Humanely handle all animals using Fear Free procedures and positive reinforcement techniques as trained
- This includes animals that may be ill, injured, quarantined, or aggressive while utilizing established animal care and control equipment and techniques
- Assist with adoption processes, including presenting animals and sharing basic information with the public
- Support vaccination, medication administration, and basic medical care as directed by veterinary or supervisory staff
- Maintain accurate records related to animal health, feeding, medications, behavior and daily activities
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to the public, volunteers, and partner organizations
- Follow all safety procedures, infection control standards, and animal welfare regulations
- Perform all other duties as assign

Shift timings - 1st Shift (Day)
Job requirements:
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience working with animals in a shelter, kennel, veterinary clinic, or similar environment preferred; relevant experience
- may be considered in lieu of formal education
- Ability to safely handle animals of various sizes, temperaments, and health conditions
- Valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) or more years of experience in animal care, animal shelter operations, or veterinary assistance
- Candidates will need to be comfortable working around animals. Part-time temp to perm. 25-30 hours
- Background check and drug test required
