Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time special education teaching opportunity is available working onsite in Bennettsville, SC, serving students from PreK through high school in a dynamic K-12 educational setting. This contract position spans the current school year, beginning January 7, 2025, through June 2, 2026, and offers the chance to positively impact students with diverse learning needs in both self-contained and resource classroom environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to a PreK self-contained classroom with 3-4 year olds, utilizing multi-category and early childhood education strategies.
- Serve as a high school resource special education teacher, supporting approximately 22-25 students with tailored learning plans.
- Potentially provide self-contained instruction to a smaller high school special education group (around 10 students), addressing individualized educational goals.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, maintain detailed student records, and participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) development.
- Meet physical demands of the role including lifting and supporting students with mobility needs.
Qualifications:
- Active South Carolina teaching certification with Multi-Category Special Education and Early Childhood endorsements.
- Experience working with diverse special education populations across PreK and high school settings.
- Strong communication skills and ability to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs.
