Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification (SPED) for Virginia or eligible for reciprocity
  • Experience in co-teaching models, preferably in grades 3-4 and/or 7-8
  • Strong ability to collaborate, communicate, and adapt to diverse learning needs
  • Prior travel/contract experience in school settings preferred but not required

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver co-taught special education instruction for grades 3-4 (primary) and 7-8 (middle school), each serving fewer than 10 students
  • Work onsite in collaborative classrooms
  • Support IEP implementation, student evaluation, and data tracking
  • Partner with general education teachers and staff to ensure student success
  • Maintain positive relationships with students, families, and school faculty
