The City of Valley Police Department is soliciting applications for dedicated and community-focused individuals to join our team as a Part Time Police Officer. Valley, Nebraska, offers a charming small-town atmosphere with a strong sense of community. As part of our professional group of officers, you will be integral in maintaining safety, enforcing laws, and fostering a positive relationship with our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrol assigned areas to prevent crime and enforce laws and ordinances
- Respond promptly to calls for service, including emergencies, accidents, and incidents
- Conduct thorough investigations, gather evidence, and prepare detailed reports
- Engage with community members to build trust and promote public safety
- Participate in community outreach programs and events
- Collaborate with local agencies and organizations to address community concerns
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism and integrity at all times
Qualifications:
- Must already be certified to work as a Law Enforcement Officer in the State of Nebraska
- Law Enforcement Certification must be in good standing with Nebraska Crime Commission
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in criminal justice or a related field is a plus
- Valid drivers license
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
