We are currently looking for a Urologist to become part of our team at Lowell General Hospital and Merrimack Urology Associates.

Our practice provides a collaborative work environment with exceptional support for our physicians, including:

  • A flexible work schedule of either four or five days per week, tailored to your preferences.
  • Dedicated administrative support in the office, along with three nurses available for immediate triage, enabling our physicians to focus on delivering outstanding patient care.
  • Hospital assistance from a daytime Physician Assistant for pre- and post-operative care five days a week, with an additional Nurse Practitioner joining four days a week from 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM, including first call responsibilities for both hospital and office settings.

Overview of the Urology Department:

Integrated Healthcare: Merrimack Urology Associates is a well-established practice situated in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. After 50 years of independent operation, we merged with Lowell General Hospital in 2021, which is part of our health system that includes over 700 affiliated physicians and a clinical partnership with a prominent medical center.

Academic Opportunities: As a member of our organization, you will have the chance to hold an academic appointment at a prestigious medical school, with a variety of teaching opportunities available.

Our Practice: Merrimack Urology Associates covers nearly all facets of Urology, including oncology, endoscopic stone procedures, laparoscopy and robotics, MRI-guided prostate biopsies, incontinence, erectile dysfunction, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), female urology, and basic pediatric urology.

Team Collaboration: Our current team comprises five full-time physicians, one part-time physician, one full-time Nurse Practitioner, and a Physician Assistant. We serve a large and diverse patient community.

Key Responsibilities:

As a member of our diverse team, you will work in both outpatient and surgical settings, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative and patient-centered care.

  • Community Engagement: Provide specialty and subspecialty care to the vibrant communities of Chelmsford and Lowell, MA, known for their cultural, historical, and outdoor attractions, with convenient access to Boston.
  • Patient-Centric Approach: Our integrated network enhances patient access to care, with collaborations extending beyond our facilities, including partnerships with an excellent Cancer Center conducting trials in collaboration with leading hospitals in the Boston area.
  • Benefit from multidisciplinary support from Interventional Radiology, Nephrology, Oncology, and more. Our office is staffed with three nurses, one-on-one support from medical assistants, and dedicated administrative assistance for our physicians.
  • Advanced Facilities: We conduct office-based cystoscopies, TRUS biopsies, vasectomies, and provide in-house ultrasounds performed by certified sonographers. Our operating room is located at Lowell General Hospital's Main Campus, featuring a state-of-the-art Endourology Suite, a DaVinci Xi Robot, and specialized Urology staff, with easy access to MRI-guided prostate biopsies and extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL).

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position, offering a four- or five-day work week, with shared on-call responsibilities among the team.

Qualifications:

Applicants must hold a medical degree (MD or DO) or an equivalent foreign qualification, along with board certification in Urology to be fully licensed and credentialed as an attending physician at Lowell General Hospital.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is between $350,000.00 and $400,000.00 annually. The final compensation will be determined during the hiring process and will take into account various factors, including relevant experience, education, internal equity, and academic rank.

We view this compensation not just as a salary, but as recognition of the significant contributions you will make in advancing our mission and shaping the future of patient care, research, and education.

Application Process: Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their application or CV through this job posting.
