Contract | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 19:00–07:00) | Friday, Saturday, Sunday | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

  • Float across multiple critical care units including Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, Cardiac Care Unit, and Oncology ICU as needed based on facility census
  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients including trauma, surgical complications, neuro, open-heart surgery, cardiac procedure monitoring, and oncology patients
  • Manage patients requiring increased levels of care such as DKA, ETOH withdrawal, and chemo inductions
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using EPIC electronic health records
  • Participate in rotating weekend and holiday scheduling as required by unit needs

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license valid in Virginia (in-hand at time of submittal) or valid compact license with proof provided
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU/critical care nursing experience, with specialty experience within the last year
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Current PALS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • EPIC electronic health records experience
  • Completed NIH stroke education and stroke-related training

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience across multiple ICU subspecialties (surgical, medical, cardiac, oncology)
  • Flexible scheduling availability including every other weekend and holidays
  • Experience in a float pool or multi-unit critical care environment
