- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (12/15/2025 – 3/16/2026)\n
- Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 start)\n
- Hours per Week: 36\n
- Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse, On-Site\n
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend\n
- Unit: Cardiac Stepdown 7N (PCU/Medical Surgical)\n
- EMR: EPIC\n
\n\nPCU RN Qualifications\n
- \n
- Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Medical Surgical nursing experience\n
- At least 1 completed travel nursing contract\n
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or Iowa\n
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA required)\n
- Cardiac nursing experience required; open heart experience preferred\n
- Proficient in chest tubes, femstops, tracheostomies, CBIs, drains, and central lines\n
- Ability to float within the same discipline across local healthcare campuses\n
- Must reside at a taxable address outside of 50 miles from the facility\n
- Submission of work history, skills checklist (within 1 year), license verification, required certifications, and at least one supervisory reference\n
\n\nPCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities\n

- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Cardiac Stepdown/PCU unit\n
- Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiac and medical conditions\n
- Perform specialized procedures including chest tubes, tracheostomies, drains, and central lines\n
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans\n
- Serve as charge nurse or preceptor for new hires as needed\n
- Float to other PCU or Medical Surgical units within the facility as required\n
- Accurately document patient care in the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system\n
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and healthcare regulations\n
