Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A school district in West Valley City, UT is seeking a dedicated professional to provide specialized instruction and support for visually impaired students. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for visually impaired students
  • Adapt curriculum and materials to accommodate visual impairments

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure comprehensive student support
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly
  • Provide training and guidance to school staff on best practices for supporting visually impaired learners

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification with endorsement or specialization in visual impairments
  • Experience working with school-aged students who are visually impaired
  • Knowledge of assistive devices, braille, and adaptive technology
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to create engaging and accessible learning environments
