Summary: A Lead Carpenter (LC) for BOWA plays an important role in the completion and profitability of each project and plays a key role in client project execution, communication and client satisfaction. The LC is the representative of BOWA who ultimately knows the most about a given project. It is his/her chief responsibility to manage the day-to-day construction activities at the jobsite to get the project completed with the utmost quality and in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete Lead Carpenter responsibilities:
    • Direct and manage other carpenters on site
    • Complete carpentry work as needed with "tools on"
    • Own and maintain appropriate tools to complete the job
  • Supervision of BOWA employees and subcontractors on a daily basis
  • Estimating material list quantities, getting lists to the Small Projects Manager for pricing, oversee efficient use of the material and return of unused materials
  • Communicate and "manage" the client on a daily basis. Relay any important information from the client to the Small Projects Manager
  • Keep informed as to the project as a whole including plans, change orders and specs
  • Maintain a two-week future schedule of jobsite events including: material delivery dates, daily work, manpower needed, and summary of subcontractor work scheduled and completed
  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively with the Small Projects Manager, subcontractors, clients
  • Supervision of jobsite safety, cleanliness, security, and protection from damage during construction
  • Attend quarterly training meetings in the office with all LC's and production managers
  • Use of computer as directed by Small Projects Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities: There are no supervisory responsibilities with this position.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in Remodeling related work
  • Be able to communicate with others clearly.
  • Must have reliable transportation, tardiness is not acceptable.

Schedule: Official work day: Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm. Overtime is occasionally necessary. This is an hourly position.
