About the role:
We are seeking a national security and regulatory affairs professional to join our team. This individual will play a key role in assessing geopolitical, foreign direct investment (FDI), and merger control risks across the organization. The ideal candidate has experience navigating complex regulatory processes, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and providing timely policy insights to senior management in a highly collaborative environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct national security risk assessments for prospective investments and partnerships.
- Track regulatory activity and help to coordinate filings across FDI screening regimes (e.g., CFIUS and non-U.S. equivalents) and competition authorities.
- Represent the organization at relevant industry events and policy forums.
- Analyze and monitor global policy and geopolitical developments affecting technology, trade, and investment. Prepare clear, concise policy briefs for internal stakeholders.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Demonstrated experience in government, consulting, or in-house roles focused on national security and geopolitical analysis.
- Strong working knowledge of foreign investment review processes (e.g., CFIUS) and related due diligence requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex policy and regulatory concepts clearly to senior audiences.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving ability, with sound judgment and discretion.
- Highly collaborative team player comfortable working across legal, policy, and business functions.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree is required; advanced degree preferred
- Experience working in a national security-related role within the U.S. government required
- Prior experience with CFIUS or other FDI regimes strongly preferred; private sector experience welcomed
