Community Fundraising & Communications Coordinator supports and expands community-based fundraising efforts by coordinating third-party events, managing in-kind donations, and preparing donor and stewardship communications. The role assists with community event planning and day-of execution of all events, prepares event communications, and leads smaller grant applications while supporting larger grant submissions as needed. This role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with donors and community partners. The Community Fundraising & Communications Coordinator is a full-time exempt position. Qualifications include Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent years of related experience, 2-3 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, in-kind donations management and developing community partnerships. Knowledge of grant writing processes preferred, familiarity with social media platforms and basic content creation tools, experience with community centric fundraising or peer to peer fundraising a plus, and computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and databases. Essential Job Functions:

Community Fundraising & Third-Party Events

  • Be primary contact for inquiries from community members, groups, organizations and businesses interested in fundraising.
  • Coordinate and support third-party fundraising initiatives, including community-led events and campaigns.
  • Develop and distribute fundraising toolkits (templates, messaging guides, promotional materials) to support community fundraisers.
  • Serve as the primary contact for community fundraisers- providing guidance, resources, and ongoing support.
  • Track and report on community fundraising activities and outcomes.
  • Ensure alignment of third-party initiatives with organizational branding and policies.
  • Work with Development team to support monthly, quarterly, and annual fundraising goals.
  • Develop strategies to increase community fundraising and third-party events.
  • Coordinate organizational presences at community fundraising events. Attend tabling events as requested or needed.
  • Attend rotary clubs and Chamber meetings.

In-Kind Donations Management

  • Manage the intake, acknowledgment, tracking, and stewardship of in-kind donations from multiple 360 Communities sites.
  • Help with communication and coordination around in-kind donations.
  • Maintain accurate records of in-kind contributions for impact reporting and compliance purposes.
  • Coordinate logistics related to in-kind donations, including communication with donors and internal teams.
  • Develop strategies to increase in-kind support from community partners and businesses.

Community Fundraising Communications & Social Media

  • Support communications planning and execution for fundraising and community events.
  • In partnership with the Communications and Marketing Department, create fundraising specific social media content to promote community fundraising initiatives and recognize supporters.
  • Draft email communications and promotional materials of invitations, promotional emails, scripts, signage, and follow-up communications for annual campaigns and events.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to ensure consistent branding and messaging for community fundraisers and in-kind donations.
  • Capture and share community fundraising success stories.
  • Assist with gathering donor testimonials.

Grant Writing

  • Research and identify small grant opportunities. Prepare and submit grant applications, including drafting proposals and managing supporting materials.
  • Track grant deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements for smaller grants.
  • Prepare grant reports and stewardship updates for smaller grants.
  • Opportunity to assist with portions of larger grant proposals.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent years of related experience that demonstrate comparable knowledge and skills.
  • 2-3 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, in-kind donations management and developing community partnerships.
  • Knowledge of grant writing processes preferred.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and basic content creation tools.
  • Experience with community centric fundraising or peer to peer fundraising a plus.
  • Computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and databases.
