Join a dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Nurse in a busy Intensive Care Unit. This contract position is based in Aurora, CO, providing care for adult and geriatric patients with diverse critical conditions including trauma, neurosurgery, and medical diagnoses. You'll work in a 16-bed mixed medical ICU with a patient ratio of 2:1 and have opportunities to float to affiliated cardiac and stroke units with a maximum ratio of 3:1. Experience using EPIC EMR will support your daily documentation and patient management.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of ICU experience
- Ability and willingness to float between regional medical facilities as needed
- TCAR (TransCarotid Artery Revascularization) certification required before start
- Experience with adult and geriatric critical care patients preferred
- Comfortable managing a patient ratio of 2:1 in ICU and 3:1 in cardiac/stroke units
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity ICU setting including trauma and neurosurgical cases
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Utilize EPIC EMR for patient documentation and communication
- Float to other regional medical centers and units as requested, with advance notice for site changes
- Adhere to internal policies including weekend and holiday schedule adjustments to ensure unit coverage
Schedule:
- 36 hours per week, with shifts distributed biweekly (e.g., starting 4/6 and 4/20)
- Weekend requirement: 6 shifts every 6 weeks
- Call requirements: None
