Client is a full-service apartment building supply company with 5 locations throughout Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan and New Jersey. Our distribution center is located in the Bronx with our own fleet of trucks and all of our locations stock a multitude of items. For over 30 years, we have been providing world class service to our customers and pride ourselves on being the industry standard for apartment building supply.
Purchasing Assistant Responsibilities
The Purchasing Assistant position essential duties and responsibilities include:
• Sourcing non-stock items requested by customers
• Purchasing non-stock items requested by customers
• Creating new items in our software
• Communicating with vendors regarding deliveries, pricing, availability, etc.
• Assisting the Purchasing Manager with various tasks
• Working with the Distribution Dept, and Customer Service Dept to ensure customer satisfaction in regards to items and availability.
• Matching PO's to Invoices
• Problem solving PO and Invoice discrepancies
• Contacting vendors for credits
• Entering invoices into QuickBooks
• Filing Invoices
• Disbursing payments
• Scanning
• Data entry and projects as needed
Qualifications
• Maintain a high level of organization
• Time management
• Strong eye for detail and follow through. Accountability is key.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills; written and verbal
• Strong data entry skills with experience in email correspondence
