Job DescriptionWe are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. This Contract to permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations, focusing on reconciliations, reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various departments to ensure accuracy and efficiency in accounting processes.

Responsibilities:
• Perform thorough reconciliations for Federal Reserve Bank, foreign bank, and domestic accounts to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare and deliver financial reports related to reconciliations in a timely and precise manner.
• Utilize automated systems such as Account Recon Positive Pay Advantage to support daily accounting operations.
• Investigate and resolve inquiries from branches and internal business units regarding account discrepancies and reconciliation matters.
• Work closely with other departments to optimize processes and enhance operational efficiency.
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards during all reconciliation and reporting activities.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to ensure smooth transitions.
• Propose ideas for process improvements, leveraging automation tools to enhance accounting workflows.• At least 2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, demonstrating attention to detail.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
• Experience with bank reconciliations and financial auditing.
• Familiarity with ADP systems and financial services applications.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address discrepancies and improve processes.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high accuracy in financial reporting.
