Job Type: Contract (14 Weeks)
Pay Rate: $45.00 - $53.00/hour (Based on Experience)
Shift: Days | 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Weekend/Holiday Requirement: 1–2 Weekends per Month as Needed
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian to provide comprehensive nutritional assessment, intervention, education, and follow-up care for inpatient populations. The ideal candidate will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans that promote optimal patient outcomes in an acute care setting.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Current Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian.
• Primary Source Verification of CDR Registration.
• New York State Dietitian-Nutritionist Certification (when applicable).
• Minimum two (2) years of inpatient clinical dietitian experience.
• Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition assessment and medical nutrition therapy.
• Experience with inpatient nutrition care planning and documentation.
• Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Three (3) or more years of clinical nutrition experience.
• Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES).
• Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC).
• AHA BLS Certification.
Responsibilities
• Screen and assess patients to determine nutritional risk and care needs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
• Evaluate laboratory values, medications, medical history, and other factors affecting nutritional status.
• Educate patients regarding food-drug interactions and nutrition management.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers regarding diet modifications and nutrition interventions.
• Obtain dietary histories and assess food preferences through patient and family interviews.
• Provide individualized nutrition counseling and education.
• Maintain accurate documentation of nutrition assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes.
• Modify patient menus and nutrition plans as clinically appropriate.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and support quality patient care initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with facility policies, regulatory standards, and professional practice guidelines.
