Job Description

The Registered Nurse Critical Care plays a vital role in providing specialized care to critically ill patients within a large multidisciplinary Critical Care team. Reporting directly to the Critical Care Nurse Manager, this nurse is responsible for continuous patient monitoring, managing life-support equipment, administering medications, and collaborating closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.

13 Week Contract with the option to extend

Nights - 3 (12 hours shifts), 36 hours per week

Must have: ER and Med Surg Unit Experience

Travel Pay Package:

Taxable pay rate $28 per hour x 36 = $1008

Non-Taxable Stipends: Housing: $770 per week, Meals $476 per week combined $1246

Blended Rate: $62.61

Combined weekly amount: $2254

Local pay rate within 50 miles: $62.00 x 36 = 2232

Responsibilities

  • Monitor patient vital signs and overall condition continuously
  • Administer medications accurately and timely
  • Provide ventilator support and manage respiratory care
  • Manage intravenous (IV) lines and therapies
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings
  • Utilize electronic charting and maintain accurate medical records
  • Collaborate effectively within the multidisciplinary Critical Care team
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Educate patients and families regarding care procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in critical care nursing
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Knowledge in Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Expertise in critical care nursing, patient assessment, ventilator management, and IV therapy
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and attention to detail
