We're on the lookout for a director of sales committed to helping our 2 busy hotels meet their sales goals. You will be responsible for designing our sales strategy and revenue targets, training and evaluating our sales personnel, and ensuring that we generate new and recurring business through various areas of revenue and work in close collaboration with the property GM's . Our ideal applicant is a leader, innovator, and hard worker with 3 to 5 years years of sales experience.

Compensation:

$100,000 - $110,000 yearly


Responsibilities:

Director of Sale responsibilities — covering Hampton Inn (Austin) + Wingate (Round Rock)


Primary responsibility

  • Own new business and account management for both properties to maximize rooms revenue, group pickup, and negotiated accounts.

Sales & business development

  • Prospect, qualify, and close new corporate accounts, SMERF, medical, education, and local business accounts for each property.
  • Drive group sales: respond to RFPs, negotiate blocks, secure contracts, and follow through to pickup.
  • Maintain a prioritized target list (top 50 local accounts/meeting planners) and execute outreach cadence.
  • Conduct regular site visits, venue tours, and meeting-planner open-house events for each property.

Account management & retention

  • Manage existing negotiated accounts: renewals, rate reviews, and service follow-ups.
  • Resolve client issues and maintain high account satisfaction to maximize repeat business.

Pricing & revenue collaboration

  • Coordinate daily/weekly with the Revenue Manager on availability, rate windows, negotiated rates, and pickup strategy.
  • Provide lead time and pickup intelligence to support RMS pricing decisions.

Marketing & distribution

  • Support local marketing efforts: propose packages, promotions, and co-op partnerships with local attractions.
  • Maintain up-to-date hotel listings (GMB, local directories) and provide content/photography requests to central marketing.
  • Drive direct bookings through corporate/partner channels and upsell opportunities.

Operations & guest experience

  • Ensure smooth handoffs to operations for group arrivals (pre-event planning, billing, rooming lists) and confirm requirements.
  • Train/coach front desk on group check-in processes, upsells, and negotiated account procedures.

Systems, reporting & administration

  • Maintain CRM and pipeline daily: log leads, proposals, follow-ups, and contract details.
  • Submit weekly pipeline reports and monthly incremental revenue reports to GM + Revenue Manager.
  • Generate and present monthly account activity, group pickup, and forecast reports.

KPI ownership (report and be accountable)

  • Incremental rooms revenue vs baseline (monthly), net group room-nights signed, number of new negotiated accounts, RevPAR contribution vs. target, response SLA to leads (e.g., <24 hours).

Client-facing standards & availability

  • Response time SLA: initial contact/respond to leads and RFPs within 24 hours.
  • Be available for evening/site-visit meetings and occasional weekend events; provide own local travel between properties or use provided stipend.

Compliance & governance

  • Follow baseline/commission policy, contract terms, cancellation/clawback rules, and GM-approved pricing parameters.
  • Obtain GM/RM sign-off for any rate exceptions, comp requests, or contract changes outside policy.

Performance & development

  • Attend weekly revenue meetings and monthly strategy reviews.
  • Maintain local market knowledge, attend industry networking events, and pursue relevant sales training.

Logistics & expectations

  • Split time between both properties as required (document weekly schedule).
  • Maintain accurate expense reporting and mileage records for travel between properties.

Optional/additional duties (as agreed)

  • Support select marketing campaigns, community partnerships, or F&B event coordination if owned locally.
  • Cover ad-hoc owner/brand requests related to local sales initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • We prefer someone with prior hospitality experience but is not required
  • Prior experience of 5+ years as a sales professional in a related field is required
  • Demonstrates a proven track record of success in sales through lead-generation and closing
  • Strong analytical skills, communication skills, and leadership skills
  • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
