Job Description
Job Summary:The Safety Coordinator supports Plant and Environmental Safety initiatives by living and promoting the Client Safety Standard “Safer Together.” This role ensures compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements while providing safety leadership, training, and continuous improvement support within the manufacturing plant. Safety is a condition of employment.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all plant rules, safety regulations, and Client safety standards
  • Take personal ownership of working safely and holding others accountable to the same standards
  • Communicate safety concerns, equipment problems, and abnormalities to appropriate personnel
  • Coordinate with asset operators to ensure immediate action on product out-of-spec conditions
  • Notify supervisor immediately of accidents, near misses, or on-the-job injuries
  • Participate in plant safety, quality, Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and housekeeping programs
  • Support focused improvement events, safety committees, and safety training initiatives
  • Perform job tasks to reduce environmental impact and follow waste disposal and recycling procedures
  • Understand and ensure compliance with Lock Tag Try (LTT) systems and hazardous energy controls
  • Participate in plant TPM initiatives
  • Provide safety training to new hires
  • Update and maintain the LTT program
  • Write Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and Standard Work documents and train employees on them
  • Support training and development of colleagues
  • Follow standard operating procedures and processes
  • Demonstrate flexibility to changing business priorities
  • Identify and participate in continuous learning opportunities
  • Make decisions within scope and follow the chain of command when support is needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Required Skills:

  • Ability to train others on safety and environmental procedures
  • Understanding of regulatory and corporate safety standards
  • Strong ability to identify, report, and address safety issues
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision
  • Strong multitasking skills with high attention to detail
  • Basic mathematics skills
  • Effective English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking, understanding)
  • Positive work ethic and leadership by example
