Job Opening: Construction Superintendent
Location: Concord, CA
Pay Range: $48-$55+/hr (DOE)

About the Company
Our client is a fully integrated environmental construction firm specializing in turnkey, self-perform solutions that address complex environmental challenges in soil, vapor, air, and water-including groundwater, stormwater, and water/wastewater systems. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Superintendent to join their Concord, CA office.
What you will be doing:
- Lead daily tailgate safety meetings, ensuring full crew participation and proper PPE compliance
- Conduct daily 'Permit to Work' and Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) discussions with the crew
- Assign and oversee daily field tasks for team members
- Ensure daily inspection and readiness of tools and equipment
- Maintain accurate field logs and notes using Site Docs
- Coordinate and schedule subcontractors for project execution
- Manage material needs and delivery timelines to support work schedules
- Report daily labor, equipment, material usage, and production metrics for cost tracking
- Review budget vs. actual job costs with the Project Manager
- Understand full scope of work and identify potential change order conditions
- Perform health and safety-related activities and ensure compliance
- Support additional project-related duties as assigned by management
- Travel up to 10% may be required
What you will bring to the table:
- Proven experience supervising construction projects
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing conditions
- Proficient in reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and schematics
- Skilled in checking grades and verifying elevations using laser tools
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and hazard recognition
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to meet expectations and requirements
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities
- Capable of managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines
- Professional demeanor with all levels of staff, vendors, and clients
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
- General knowledge of MEP systems and heavy equipment operation/troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Minimum 7+ years of hands-on experience in construction, with emphasis on excavation, demolition, or grading
- Certifications: 40-hour HAZWOPER, 30-hour OSHA, 10-hour OSHA, CPR
