A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Stepdown care at a healthcare facility in Keaau, HI. Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients in a 32-bed Transitional Care Unit (TCU) with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:8 by day, supported by aides.
- Administer treatments including wound vac management, chest tube care, tube feedings (NG and G-Tubes), tracheostomy care, PICC/PORT management using the Meditech EMR system and Pyxis medication dispensing.
- Maintain professional nursing standards including strict infection control and clinical documentation.
- Float to Medical-Surgical and Surgical Pediatrics units as needed.
- Participate fully in unit-specific orientation and training programs.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Hawaii (must be obtained prior to assignment start).
- 2 to 10 years of relevant nursing experience in stepdown or similar acute care environments.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) not mandatory unless specified by agency policy.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and lengths, including potential weekends and nights.
- Professional nursing attire required.
Additional Requirements
- Must arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before assignment start for mandatory employee health clearance including flu vaccination or approved exemption prior to beginning work.
- Willingness to comply with all pre-employment health screenings and facility protocols.
Schedule
- Scheduled for 36 hours weekly following orientation, with varied shift times and days.
