The Product Specialist I – Smart Components plays a key role in driving sales growth and expanding market share for Allen-Bradley Industrial Controls (including push-buttons, contactors, relays, signaling devices), as well as Sensors and Safety product lines. This hybrid position combines technical expertise, product planning, and sales support, acting as a vital connection between customers, our sales team, and our strategic partner, Rockwell Automation.


This is an entry-level opportunity for individuals with a solid technical foundation who are eager to grow into a senior-level outside product specialist role. It’s an excellent path for someone motivated to build their career in technical sales and product management.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned.

  • Collaborate with management to set annual sales targets and develop go-to-market plans for assigned product lines.
  • Develop and maintain deep technical knowledge of assigned products and applications; train sales and marketing teams to enhance overall sales effectiveness.
  • Partner with Rockwell Automation product managers to coordinate new product launches and promotional programs.
  • Support account managers and inside sales teams by providing technical guidance, product demonstrations, and customer application support.
  • Create, update, and maintain sales tools including brochures, data sheets, presentations, demos, and samples.
  • Serve as the product and application expert for assigned lines, working closely with Rockwell technical teams and resolving customer issues as needed.
  • Attend annual technical training events, trade shows, and sales conferences to remain current on industry trends and product advancements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s degree in Industrial/Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline (required).
  • Experience: 1+ years in a technical sales support role preferred; internships or co-op experience in industrial automation encouraged.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint).
  • Licenses: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company standards .
  • Other: Desire and ability to grow into an advanced product specialist role.
