Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Providing specialized psychological services within a K-12 educational setting, this position supports student learning and well-being through assessment, intervention, and consultation. The role focuses on enhancing the educational experience of students by addressing their cognitive, emotional, and social needs.
Location: Kinston, NC
School Type: PreK-12
Job Duration: Contract through June 5th, 2026
Work Hours: 25-30 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments to identify students strengths and areas for intervention
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and administrators to develop appropriate educational plans and interventions
- Provide direct counseling and behavioral support to students as needed
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute expert psychological perspectives
- Assist with crisis response and general mental health promotion within the school community
Qualifications and Skills:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field
- Valid licensure or certification as a School Psychologist in North Carolina
- Experience working with diverse student populations across PreK-12 grade levels
- Strong knowledge of psychoeducational assessment tools and intervention techniques
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Availability to interview Friday between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM
