Dental Hygienist. Contract
Location
Santa Fe Indian Health Center. Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Rotation to Santa Clara Health Center Dental and Cochiti Health Clinic as assigned.
Openings
Three positions.
Schedule
• 8 hour shifts 7:30 am to 4:30 pm
• 9 hour shifts 7:30 am to 5:00 pm
• 30 minute unpaid lunch
• Monday through Friday
• No weekends
• No federal holidays
• No on call
Pay
• Local rate $60 per hour
• Non local rate $28.50 per hour
• Per diem $1,246 per week
• Travel allowance $500
Scope of Work
• Perform child and adult prophylaxis
• Provide periodontal debridement and scaling root planing
• Administer topical and local anesthesia
• Complete oral health evaluations and risk assessments
• Record vitals and review medical and dental history
• Perform dental charting and periodontal screenings
• Take and review dental radiographs
• Document all care in Dentrix
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, caries prevention, periodontal disease, tobacco cessation, nutrition
• Apply sealants, fluoride, and desensitizing agents
• Follow chairside infection control standards
• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments and equipment
• Support periodontal recall systems
• Attend dental staff meetings and program reviews
Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program
• Associate or bachelor degree in dental hygiene
• Active unrestricted dental hygiene license in a US state or territory
• Minimum 24 months dental hygiene experience
• Minimum 12 months relevant specialty experience
• Resume showing direct clinical dental hygiene experience
