Salesforce Technical Administrator:
Role:
We are seeking a skilled Salesforce Technical Developer with 3+ years of experience to design, build, and maintain innovative solutions on the Salesforce platform for higher education. The ideal candidate will have strong foundational knowledge of Salesforce development, including Apex, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, APIs, and data modeling, combined with hands-on experience in Education Cloud and/or Admissions Connect. This role requires the ability to configure and extend Salesforce functionality, integrate
external systems, and implement automation that supports institutional goals. Experience with complementary tools such as Journey Builder for marketing automation and FormAssembly for form management is highly desirable. The developer will play a key role in enabling the full student lifecycle from recruitment and admissions through enrollment, student success, and alumni engagement by delivering secure, scalable, and user-friendly solutions.
The salary range for this postion is $60,495.36-$90,743.04

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- 30%- Design, develop, and maintain custom solutions using Apex (classes/triggers), Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, and declarative tools to support admissions and student lifecycle processes.
- 30%- Configure Education Cloud / Admissions Connect features including checklists, dynamic forms, applicant portals, and decision workflows. Build and integrate forms (FormAssembly or similar) and automate processes using Flows, approval processes, and validation rules.
- 20%- Develop data integrations with SIS, LMS, and external systems via REST/SOAP APIs or middleware; perform data migration, bulk loads, and ensure data integrity and governance.
- 10%- Build and maintain reports and dashboards to track recruitment funnel, application review, enrollment, and student success metrics; provide analytics to support institutional decision-making.
- 5%- Implement and optimize Marketing Cloud / Journey Builder campaigns for prospective and current students, including email/SMS journeys integrated with CRM events.
- 5%- Collaborate with admissions, registrar, student services, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical expertise, ensure FERPA/data compliance, and deliver scalable solutions.
- 5%- Participate in testing, DevOps, and release management using CI/CD and version control; monitor performance and apply upgrades with each Salesforce release.

Knowledge and Skills:
Experience:
- Strong experience in Apex (classes, triggers, batch jobs).
- Proficiency with Lightning Web Components (LWC) and/or Aura / classic components where needed.
- Experience with Visualforce (for legacy or edge-case UIs).
- Familiarity with APIs: REST, SOAP, Bulk API.
- Hands-on experience with Marketing Automation / Journey Builder (Marketing Cloud or equivalent).
- Experience building/customizing forms / workflows via FormAssembly or similar.
- Competence in data modeling: custom objects, record types, fields, relationships.
- Strong skills in data migration / ETL tools; handling large datasets.
- Familiarity with version control (Git or similar) CI/CD or deployment tools.
- Experience with Education Cloud and/or Admissions Connect (or similar recruitment/admissions platforms).
- Understanding of the recruitment admissions funnel in higher ed (prospect, inquiry, applicant, admit, deposit, enroll).
- Knowledge of student lifecycle processes (registration, retention, advising) is a plus.
- Awareness of compliance/privacy considerations (FERPA etc.).
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on Salesforce development (more, depending on seniority).
- Prior work (or certification) in Salesforce Admissions Connect or Education Cloud strongly preferred.
- Certifications (e.g. Salesforce Platform Developer I/II, Education Cloud Consultant) are big pluses.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; able to translate business needs into technical requirements.
- Good communication; able to work with non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, quality-driven.
- Self-motivated; able to manage tasks and priorities.
- Team player; mentoring more junior resources if needed.
Other Skills:
Knowledge of form / workflow tools beyond FormAssembly (e.g., Formstack, FormTitan). Experience integrating with Student Information Systems (Banner, PeopleSoft, Workday etc.). Familiarity with data privacy / regulatory compliance in education sector.
Physical Requirements: The work is typically sedentary. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, driving an automobile, etc. No special demands are required to do the work.
Work Environment: In office, on campus.
