Job DescriptionJob Title: Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) – 2025–2026 School Year

Our team is excited to welcome a passionate Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to support students across grade levels for the current academic year. This role is designed for an educator who is committed to providing equitable learning opportunities and ensuring that students who are deaf or hard of hearing can thrive academically, socially, and personally.

Role Highlights:

  • Design and deliver individualized instruction based on student IEPs.
  • Conduct evaluations to track progress and adapt instructional approaches when needed.
  • Actively participate in IEP meetings and contribute insights as part of a collaborative team.
  • Partner with general education teachers to modify curriculum and instructional practices for accessibility.
  • Provide direct teaching using ASL, oral communication strategies, and assistive listening technologies tailored to student needs.
  • Serve as a key point of communication among students, families, and staff to promote success both inside and outside the classroom.

Requirements

  • Strong communication, adaptability, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a closely related field.
  • Experience supporting students with hearing impairments in school-based settings is desirable.
  • Valid Georgia teaching certification with an endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
