Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and very detail-oriented Oncology Appointment Scheduler to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing patient appointments, ensuring efficient scheduling processes, and providing exceptional service to patients and their families. You will play a crucial role in coordinating care and supporting the oncology department's operations.

Duties

• Schedule appointments for Dr,labwork and treatments and confirm patient appointments for oncology consultations and treatments.
• Manage incoming calls and inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
• Verify patient insurance information and perform insurance authorization as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records in electronic health record (EHR)
• Review documentation for completeness and accuracy prior to patient visits.
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding care plans, appointment details, and any necessary pre-visit instructions.
• Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless coordination of care.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations in all patient interactions and documentation.
• Assist in clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining medical records.

Skills

• Proficient in medical terminology
• Experience with EMR systems including Epic
• Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated experience in a medical office setting or clinic environment is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate documentation review.
• Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
• Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently while maintaining phone etiquette.
