Position Summary

We are seeking aCertified Medical Assistantto support our providers at our L Street clinic in Washington, DC. This role involves a combination of administrative and clinical responsibilities to help ensure seamless patient care and efficient daily operations.The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.


Key Responsibilities

  • Compile and maintain patient records, medical charts, and documentation
  • Schedule appointments for physical exams and chronic disease management
  • Process prior authorizations and referrals, and respond to inquiries from patients and providers
  • Track and link diagnostic imaging (DI) with provider orders
  • Confirm patient insurance for billable lab services
  • Take and document patient vitals, screenings, and health logs
  • Prepare, clean, and restock exam rooms
  • Operate equipment (EKG, X-ray, etc.) and assist with diagnostic testing
  • Administer injections and perform routine lab tests
  • Support PCMH and quality initiatives
  • Cover staff absences and assist team members as needed
  • Interpret instructions, communicate clearly, and solve routine problems



Physical Requirements

  • Frequently required to sit, communicate verbally, use hands for various tasks, and actively listen
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift/move up to 10 lbs.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Completion of a certified Medical Assistant training program
  • Current (not expired) CCMA, CMA, or RMA Certification
  • Current BLS or CPR certification



Preferred Qualifications

  • Primary Care experience
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks (ECW)and Athena
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Awareness of population health



Medical Clearance

Must meet CPCs medical clearance requirements, including documentation for:

  • Hepatitis B vaccination
  • Pneumococcal screening
  • Tuberculosis screening
