Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A K-12 school in Billings, MT is seeking a dedicated Special Education teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time contract position requires working onsite from August 2025 through June 2026, with hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The role involves supporting students in grades 6-12 with a caseload of 8-12 students.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students needs.
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and staff to support academic and emotional development.
- Work closely with students experiencing mental health challenges, applying appropriate interventions.
- Maintain a safe learning environment with training in Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP), emphasizing de-escalation and safe restraining techniques if necessary.
Qualifications:
- Montana Special Education Teacher certification is required.
- Experience in IEP development and working with students facing mental health issues.
- Ability to pass a background check and complete VIP certification training.
