HR Assistant:


The Human Resources and Medical Records Assistant is responsible for providing assistance in the operations of the Human Resources as well as providing administrative support in the areas of Resident Accounts, Nursing Services and Medical Records while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulatory and organizational standards.


1. Assists in hiring and general orientation of new employees; provides facility tours, issues back-support belts, trains on use of the time clock

2. Works with the Nursing Service Clerk to conduct the new employee orientation for the nursing department

3. Communicates and implements all benefit programs and services a. Assists employees regarding benefit claim issues and plan changes b. Distributes all benefit enrollment materials to eligible employees c. Processes and administers all leave of absence requests, disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability, and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)

4. Serves as assistant liaison to the Human Resources Department at the Program Support Center

5. Coordinates the Health & Wellness initiative for the community

6. Distributes employee PPD testing forms to appropriate supervisors and files them in the employee medical records file when completed

7. Maintains current log of employee records, including but not limited to: a. Immunizations records for tuberculosis, hepatitis B, b. Certifications for cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) c. Professional licenses for registered nurses (RN) and licensed practical nurses (LPN) d. Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) e. Driver’s licenses for employees who drive Christian Care owned vehicles

8. Compiles OSHA data in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations

9. Assists with claims related to workers' compensation and unemployment insurance

10. Oversees the process conducting pre-employment and random drug screens

11. Provides back up administrative support by copying records and performing general filing for Medical Records and Resident Accounts as directed

12. Maintains strict confidentiality regarding personnel and resident information

13. Personifies outstanding customer service to co-workers, clients and vendors by acting as a subject matter resource in a timely, considerate and friendly manner, always maintaining the “Golden Rule” approach; practices patience and kindness.


Required Education: Associate’s degree in human resources or related field

Required Experience: Minimum two years of experience in human resources with an emphasis on employee relations, performance management, and discipline support

Preferred Experience: Nonprofit; senior living or long-term care sector
