Job DescriptionCustomer Service Representative
As a Customer Service Representative, you will serve as a key liaison between customers and internal departments, ensuring smooth order processing and exceptional service delivery. Your role will involve managing customer communications, processing orders, and resolving issues with precision and professionalism. This is a Direct Hire opportunity located near Glendale Heights IL.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate customer quotations and enter sales orders received via email, phone, or fax into the ERP system, verifying all relevant details including shipping and billing information.
- Provide timely order acknowledgements and maintain clear communication with customers throughout the order lifecycle.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues related to customer purchase orders, including order status updates and expediting requests.
- Collaborate with production, scheduling, and technical teams to address customer inquiries and ensure accurate information is provided.
- Track and manage customer orders, including proof of delivery requests and updates in the customer management database.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and complete all necessary documentation.
- Support Regional Sales Managers by responding to customer inquiries and assisting with remote or travel-based sales activities.
- Manage incoming customer service calls, including routing, quoting, order entry, and technical support.
- Perform daily scanning and documentation of job and sales orders.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in inside sales or industrial customer service.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
- Strong communication and correspondence skills with a professional demeanor.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with sound decision-making within established guidelines.
- High attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Team-oriented mindset with strong critical thinking skills.
- Familiarity with industrial products and experience using Aptean or Made2Manage software is a plus.
- Competence in converting imperial/metric measurements and calculating prices accurately.
