Summary:
To assist members with their financial transactions, involving paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments. Cross-sells credit union products and services. Ensures that members are aware of electronic services, such as remote deposit capture, online banking, Bill Pay, e-statements, mobile app, and online loan approval.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Receives and processes member financial transactions, included but not limited to:
- Deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments.
- Sells money orders and traveler's checks to members.
- Transfers funds from member accounts as directed.
- Correctly maintains member's account information.
- Provides a superior member experience by actively listening and assessing the needs of the member and offering targeted solutions to these needs.
- Actively cross sells and provides product and service guidance to members, referring members to the appropriate department as necessary.
- Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks including but not limited to:
- ordering member checks, correctly completing wire transfer forms, changing member addresses, enroll members in online banking and reset passwords, etc.
- Balances cash drawer and daily transactions. Under dual control, balances the cash vault.
- Attains and maintains up-to-date knowledge of credit union products and services, sufficient to successfully cross-sell and refer.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
- Provide friendly, professional, personal service to all members. Maintain attentiveness to the lobby, making eye contact with and acknowledging with a smile anyone entering the lobby.
- Balance assigned teller drawer and vault accurately and in compliance with policies and procedures.
- Conduct a proportional number of member transactions as determined by total branch transactions, hours worked, and number of tellers on duty.
- Post transactions and complete other assigned responsibilities with accuracy.
- Proactively seek opportunities to identify and suggest appropriate products and services for the betterment of each member.
- Complete all required compliance/operations training in a timely manner.
- Maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness.
- Maintain a professional environment and businesslike appearance.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience
- Up to six months of similar or related experience.
- Education
- Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED
- Skills
- Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.
- Ten key calculator and computer keyboard by touch. Must be good with detail to deal with numbers and names.
Physical Requirements:
- Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. This includes but may not be limited to keyboarding, writing, and filing.
- Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods.
- Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 75 pounds for various needs.
- The person in this position constantly communicates in person and in writing with members, managers, and colleagues. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- The ability to observe details at close range to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
- This position requires availability to work all branch operating hours, including Saturday drive-through teller hours.

Teller Positions - MCCU hours of operation:
Monday-Thursday 7:30 am to 5:30 pm,
Friday 7:30 am to 6:00 pm,
Saturday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
