Qualifications:
Required:
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a primary care or outpatient clinical setting
- Proficiency in standard clinical and administrative medical assistant duties
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to meet all credentialing requirements, including professional reference checks
Preferred:
- Experience supporting primary care providers in a fast-paced clinic environment
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Experience with patient intake, vitals, and basic clinical procedures
Job Summary:
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) supports healthcare providers in a Primary Care setting by assisting with both clinical and administrative functions. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient patient flow, delivering high-quality patient care, and supporting daily clinic operations. The CMA plays a key role in enhancing the patient experience and maintaining a smooth and organized clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for examinations, including obtaining vital signs and medical histories
- Assist providers with examinations and procedures as needed
- Perform routine clinical tasks such as injections, specimen collection, and basic lab duties (within scope)
- Manage patient intake, documentation, and chart updates in the EMR system
- Coordinate patient flow to ensure timely and efficient appointments
- Schedule appointments and assist with administrative tasks as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and clinical areas
- Ensure compliance with all clinical policies, procedures, and safety standards
