Summary:
The Quality Course Specialist will be responsible for preparing audit checklists and documenting audit findings following the institution’s procedures, working closely with academic affairs staff in the evaluation and assessment of compliance of all courses, reviewing and suggesting SOPs as required, and assisting in the monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of corrective actions identified within the quality system. This position will report to the main site 10% of the time and will work remotely 90% of the time.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Monitors and revises all the Online courses to ensure that the online faculty fulfils the course policies established by NUC for all NUC Puerto Rico and Florida Operations
- Leads and assists in investigations regarding any issues or complaints submitted about an Online course; providing the course monitoring history from the CANVAS Platform
- Audit approximately 75 courses per day and 375 courses per week for FTC, NUC, and NUC Technical Division
- Prepares and submits weekly, one audit report for each course assigned, assuring that each course audit reporting is efficient, effective, and meets target timeframes from both compliance and academic perspectives
- Audits and monitors the faculty to report compliance in, but not limited to:
- Faculty response to students’ inquiries within 24 hours, faculty compliance with the 5-day grading policy, ensure that each faculty records course sessions with a minimum of one hour and is published in the platform, Faculty announcements are posted based on the Academic Department requirements, and due dates are configured in the platform
- Meets with Program Directors/Coordinators in reviewing auditing documentation to reflect requirements and/or identify patterns from faculty members
- Provides feedback and status information regarding auditing issues, maintains audit reports for future retrieval, and supports audit findings
Qualifications/Education/Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related areas
- 1 year of experience in a similar position with the audit management in a technology system or platform
- Must be fully bilingual and able to communicate in Spanish and English, both written and verbal
- Must have excellent attention to detail and be able to pinpoint findings effectively
- Strong observation and analytical skills
- Strong time management skills
- Knowledge of the institution’s specific quality policies and procedures
- Must be highly proficient in using computers and be open to the latest technologies that will help improve the auditing process
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especially in MS Excel
Language Skills:
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish
- Effective oral and written communication
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical reports and legal documents
