Job Description
At the YMCA of Rapid City, we're more than just a gym. We create a space where people of all ages and backgrounds come to grow stronger in spirit, mind, and body. For over 75 years, we've been deeply woven into the fabric of this community nestled in the beautiful Black Hills, offering life-changing programs and building relationships that last. Now, we're looking for a Branch Manager who is ready to lead with purpose and continue that legacy.
This position offers a unique opportunity to oversee one of the region's most important community assets. Our branch serves a diverse and growing membership base, and we're proud to partner with schools, local businesses, community leaders, and civic organizations throughout the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. As Branch Manager, you'll be directing day-to-day operations, guiding strategic vision, and building strong relationships inside and outside our walls.
We're looking for someone who understands that the Y is more than just a gym. You'll be responsible for managing staff teams across departments like aquatics, youth programs, membership, wellness, and facilities, all while making sure our operations run smoothly, safely, and sustainably. You'll have a hand in shaping programming, driving fundraising campaigns, and connecting with leaders across Rapid City to develop innovative partnerships that meet real community needs.
This role requires both vision and follow-through. You should have at least five years of leadership experience, preferably in a nonprofit, YMCA, or mission-focused environment. Strong financial management skills are essential, as are the ability to lead people, think strategically, and communicate clearly. A degree in human services, business, or recreation is helpful, but what matters most is your ability to live out our values and inspire others to do the same. If you're short a degree, we'll happily weigh your extensive experience against the requirements for the role.
We're a team that believes in showing up for each other and for our community. Our culture is welcoming, grounded in support, and driven by a shared purpose: to strengthen the foundations of our community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. If you're ready to take on a leadership role where your work truly matters, and where you can see the impact of your efforts every day, we'd love to hear from you.
