Job Title: Staff Accountant (Contract)
Location: Fully Remote
Duration: 4–6 Months
Pay Rate: $30–$33/hour (W2)
Start Date: ASAP
Our client, a NPO located in Washington, DC, is looking to add on an experienced Staff Accountant to join their team on a contract basis to support our finance team through a critical reporting and audit cycle.
Position Overview:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant with prior experience using Sage Intacct. This fully remote position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and can hit the ground running.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily and monthly accounting tasks including reconciliations, journal entries, and account analysis
- Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures
- Maintain and update the general ledger
- Support external audit preparation and respond to auditor requests
- Ensure accuracy and compliance in all financial records
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely reporting
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of accounting experience
- Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct is required
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Excellent Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote environment
