Job Description
As a Fabrication Welder, you will be responsible for interpreting blueprints and drawings, taking precise measurements, and planning layout and procedures. You will determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on specific requirements and set up components for welding according to specifications. This includes cutting material with powered saws to match measurements, operating angle grinders to prepare parts for welding, and aligning components using calipers and rulers before clamping pieces.
Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints and drawings to plan layout and procedures.
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
- Set up components for welding according to specifications, cutting material with powered saws.
- Operate angle grinders to prepare parts for welding.
- Align components using calipers and rulers, and clamp pieces securely.
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions including vertical, horizontal, or overhead.
- Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws.
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of welding experience.
- At least 2 years of experience with hand and power tools.
- At least 1 year of experience in welding blueprints.
- Ability to frequently carry weights ranging from 10 to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in fabrication and welding techniques.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and perform inspections.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Must own personal welding equipment such as gloves, face shield, and manual arc welding (MMA) tools.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
