A Registered Nurse with a focus on Operating Room care is needed for a 13-week contract located at a Level 2 Trauma Center near Minot AFB, ND. This role involves functioning primarily as a circulating nurse in a surgical setting, ensuring patient safety throughout pre-op, intra-op, and post-op phases. Working under the guidance of surgical leadership, the RN will deliver care aligned with AORN Standards and Recommended Practices.
Schedule:
- Shifts vary: 0545-1415, 0600-1430, 0830-1700, 1300-2130
- Call required 1 day per week plus parts of 2 weekends in a 6-week rotation
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care for surgical patients
- Maintain aseptic technique and infection control practices
- Collaborate effectively with surgical teams to ensure patient safety
- Apply sound clinical judgment and respond to patient needs promptly
- Utilize Cerner electronic health records for documentation
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current RN license in North Dakota or compact licensure
- Minimum 2 years of experience in perioperative nursing preferred
- Level 2 trauma experience preferred
- Travel nursing experience required
- CNOR certification preferred but not mandatory for circulator role
- BLS certification to be obtained during orientation period
- Demonstrated knowledge of asepsis and infection control principles
- Ability to work well within interdisciplinary teams
