Job Title: Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
Location: Sunnyside, Clackamas, OR, US
Employment Type: Permanent, Onsite
Salary: As per Exp.
Work Schedule: Days, with variable on-call or standby schedule
Travel Requirement: Yes, up to 50%
Job Summary:
The Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer will provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services in a hospital and/or clinical setting while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will uphold the KPNW Mission and philosophy while promoting a team-oriented work environment.
Essential Responsibilities:

Perform routine, emergent, portable, and surgical diagnostic cardiac sonography procedures in accordance with department policies and protocols.

Communicate effectively with Cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnosis and patient care.

Assist with patient preparation and transportation.

Conduct data entry, file work, restocking of supplies, and equipment maintenance to ensure smooth department operations.

Maintain quality assurance functions and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Participate in on-call or standby schedules as required.

Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
Non-Negotiable Requirements:

Education:
-
Completion of a minimum two (2) year AMA-approved program with one-year ultrasound training and certification, OR
-
Two (2) years of Allied Health education with successful completion and certification of a two-year ARDMS program, OR
-
Completion of an AMA-accredited Ultrasound program, ARDMS registered, or CardioVascular Credentialing International (CCI) (new grads must obtain registration within one year of hire).

High School Diploma or GED required.

Licenses & Certifications:
-
Registered Cardiac Sonographer Certificate within 12 months of hire (from Cardiovascular Credentialing International OR American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers).

Sonography Technologist License (Oregon).

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within one month of hire.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have Skills):

Previous experience performing TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiography), Stress Echo, and Pediatric Echocardiography.

Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and perform exams confidently and accurately.

Experience with quality assurance processes and technical troubleshooting.

Ability to adapt to changing environments and follow policies and procedures effectively.
