The Forklift Operator role is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our production area while handling the movement of products with precision and care. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklift trucks and other material handling equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods within our warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Pick raw materials orders for production.
- Accurately select flooring product orders, palletize, and shrink-wrap each order, ensuring secure handling of the heavy material.
- Transport products to and from production into the warehouse.
- Store the products in proper places in the production warehouse.
- Deliver products in a safe and timely manner.
- Sort, pack, wrap, tie, and label products as per company procedures.
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory.
- Clean work area and equipment regularly by removing empty pallets, wood, and plastic.
- Follow company standards and legal regulations to ensure a safe and positive working atmosphere.
- Perform routine pre and post inspections and recommend repairs.
- Study the production schedule to determine material requirements, movements, and deliveries.
- Identify and report faulty equipment, damages, and safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Proficient in forklift operation and material handling.
- Experience with inventory management and RF scanners.
- Ability to operate sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and stand-up forklifts.
- At least 1+ year of experience in a similar role.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- General labor skills.
- Experience in shipping and receiving.

Work Environment
Work in a large food production warehouse where production lines include salad dressing, mustard, and other products. Expect a fast-paced work environment with mixers, bottlers, shipping/receiving, and quality control operations. This is a GMP environment, so adherence to guidelines is crucial, including washing hands before working, wearing proper PPE, and using hair nets and beard nets.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manteno, Illinois.
Available Shift:
1 x 1st Shift:
- 5:30am - 2:00pm Monday through Friday (Saturdays as needed)
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
