A warm, family-owned farm in McClellanville is seeking a dedicated, compassionate Homeschool Teacher to support the education of three bright and curious children in 1st, 6th, and 7th grade. The family lives on the property and is deeply invested in creating a nurturing, inspired learning environment that blends academic structure with the natural beauty of Salty Oak Farm.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans for each child, aligned with academic standards or the family’s chosen curriculum.

• Teach core subjects (math, ELA, science, social studies, reading) in a way that supports each child’s learning style.

• Incorporate nature-based and hands-on learning using the resources of the family farm.

• Track academic progress, assignments, and learning goals for all three children.

• Provide enrichment activities that spark creativity, problem-solving, and curiosity.

• Create a positive, structured learning environment that supports emotional and academic growth.

• Communicate regularly with parents regarding schedules, expectations, and student development.

• Coordinate field trips, special projects, and experiential learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required.

• Teaching certification (South Carolina or other state) preferred.

• Experience teaching elementary and middle school grades.

• Ability to teach multiple ages at once with patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Experience with homeschooling or nontraditional education is a plus.

• Comfortable incorporating outdoor and nature-based learning.

• Dependable, warm, and adaptable to a dynamic family routine.

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-time, Monday–Friday.

• Competitive compensation based on experience.

• Start date flexible
