A rewarding opportunity is available for a registered nurse experienced in progressive care to provide high-quality care to patients with complex cardiac and pulmonary conditions. Qualifications:
- Current RN license with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum of 18 months experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or step-down nursing
- Skilled in managing patients with COPD, heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, renal failure, sepsis, tracheostomies with mechanical ventilation, and use of advanced respiratory support (BIPAP/CPAP)
- Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation, managing temporary/transvenous pacemakers, titratable IV drips, chest tubes, trach care, blood product administration, and wound care
- Comfortable working with high patient ratios typical to the PCU setting
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with moderate to high acuity in a 36-bed PCU environment
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including RNs, CNAs, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and physicians
- Utilize EMR (EPIC), Alaris IV pumps, Philips monitors, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems to deliver safe, effective care
- Perform thorough patient assessments and interventions, including managing advanced cardiac care equipment and complex respiratory support modalities
- Participate in unit-based orientation and ongoing professional development
