Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An interim Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) role is available for a hospital setting specializing in inpatient behavioral health. This contract position requires a dedicated professional to manage pharmacy operations efficiently in a healthcare environment.

Location: Florissant, MO
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a 30-minute unpaid meal break
Duration: Approximately 4 weeks or until a permanent hire is made
Setting: Inpatient Behavioral Health

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations within an inpatient behavioral health unit
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations
  • Manage medication dispensing and inventory control, including repackaging processes using systems like Milt/Medi-dose or HCL
  • Operate and maintain automated medication dispensing machines such as Omnicell, including loading drugs and running restock reports
  • Provide leadership and guidance to pharmacy staff to maintain quality patient care

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Valid Missouri Pharmacist license
  • Experience in hospital pharmacy, particularly inpatient settings
  • Familiarity with Omnicell systems preferred
  • Knowledge of medication repackaging and automated dispensing technologies
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
