Scope of Job:

The Senior Agriculture or Commercial Credit Analyst (SCA) will assist all Lending Personnel and Credit Administration in serving the financial needs of the banks Agriculture or Commercial customers. They will be responsible for specific tasks that will deal with overall analysis of Agriculture and Commercial Credits to help in determining the risk to the bank; training of bank personnel; will perform specialized analytical functions for the bank-wide lending process to include credit analysis, loan presentation preparation, and review of credits. They will evaluate the degree of risk associated with loans while complying with established BankWest Loan Policy and Procedures along with State and Federal Regulations. The Senior Agriculture or Commercial Credit Analyst will work closely with the Credit Analyst Manager and provide back up for each other in duties as needed. They will help protect the bank's security interest through accurate analysis of credit information and careful maintenance of loan presentations.

Must be highly organized, enjoy multi-tasking and have the ability to change priorities quickly as needs change. The ability to meet deadlines is expected and must have great attention to detail and strong follow-up skills.


Primary Duties:

Responsible for reviewing Agriculture or Commercial Submission Request forms submitted to the Credit Analyst Inbox for accuracy and completeness. SCAs will return submission forms to the Lending Personnel as needed to ensure flow of credits being work continues without delays.

Review and Assessment of Loan Presentations over $1 million and Loan Presentations required for Loan Committee as completed by Credit Analysts to ensure written documentation is in required format, provides all necessary information, accurate and clearly communicates analysis outcomes. SCAs will work with analysts to get presentations updated accordingly and will forward loan presentations to appropriate staff for approval.

SCAs will handle the process of getting signatures for LC packages, submitting to Executive Assistants, reviewing agendas, and locking the credits in Moody's once Approved by Loan Committee. This needs to be completed each week within the timelines as required by Management.

Maintain records regarding logging of analyst errors, lending submission errors, activity of credits and any other information required.

Responsible for updating and maintaining records for Financial Reviews and Global Cashflows that are required to be completed annually. These records will be provided to the Credit Analyst Manager as needed.

Provide leadership to the Credit Analysis Department and Lending Personnel. Assist with the development of Credit Analysts and Lending Personnel by providing guidance, training, problem solving, and review of information as needed. This may include training as assigned and specifically the training of new credit analysts.

All duty requirements of the Credit Analyst III duties. SCAs will act as back up as needed to support the Credit Analysts or when the flow of credits is high, and assistance is needed.


Secondary Duties:

Work as a team with departmental counterparts on planning and implementing assigned projects and products.

Participate on various committees and project teams as deemed appropriate by management.

Attend, actively participate in organization, job specific training offered, and Quality Service programs.

Adhere to all applicable Policies and Procedures of BankWest organization.

Community involvement is strongly encouraged.

Requirements

Education:

A Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

Applicable experience and/or related certifications may be considered in lieu of degree.


Experience:

8 years' experience in a related field.

Attend 2 year training course related to position and/or career path.

Experience in the credit analysis of larger, complex credit relationships using software systems.


Knowledge and Special Skills:

Excellent credit/financial analytical skills.

Strong math and calculation skills.

Ability to work dependently and/or independently, under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust work schedules as needed to complete job responsibilities.

Ability to organize and handle multiple responsibilities while delivering quality external and/or internal Customer Service.

Strong interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication with external and/or internal customers.

Knowledge or ability to learn regulatory requirements pertinent to performance of specified duties in job description.

Knowledge of business lending underwriting skills including but not limited to analysis of financial statements, tax returns, and cashflows.

Knowledge of banking terminology and procedures.

Knowledge of BankWest products and services.

Ability to skillfully use a variety of application software, learn computer programs, and comprehend the program output.

Adhere to Federal Privacy Standards in addition to following BankWest requirements for electronic communication and Social Engineering standards.
