Skillern Elementary is accepting applications for part and full time positions for the 2025-2026 school year for K-4th grade. To qualify, you must hold a high school diploma or higher. We are seeking educational assistants with experience in classical and outdoor education or who are willing to be trained and fully adapt to both.
Skillern Elementary is a tuition-free, public, charter school. Skillern boasts small class sizes and a healthy environment that incorporates plenty of time outdoors. All teaching staff at Skillern Elementary are hired based upon their intellectual accomplishments, moral seriousness, and skill in the art of teaching. We seek teachers who know and love the disciplines they teach, who understand and love children, who are able communicators and fine role models, and who are philosophically aligned with the mission of the school, both its classical and outdoor components. We seek to build a team of professional educators who will work together to improve the minds and form the character of the students. Educational Assistants at Skillern are highly involved in classroom lessons, aiding students who may need more one-on-one attention, and aiding the teacher as necessary.
As a part of this application, you will be required to submit a resume and cover letter. Please familiarize yourself with both classical and outdoor education and make sure that Skillern Elementary is a good fit for you.

The disclosure of a conviction does not automatically preclude you from employment with Ivy Academy. However, falsification of your application may result in an offer of employment being withdrawn and/or preclude you from employment. Furthermore, knowingly falsifying information required by TCA 49-5-406(a)(1) constitutes a Class A misdemeanor which must be reported to the District Attorney General for prosecution.
