Job DescriptionPAY RANGE:
$15.50 Hourly
HOURS/AVAILABILITY:
Monday-Friday
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position plans and leads movement/motor skill development
activities in a sports/field setting – providing a safe and nurturing environment for
children of various ages ranging from preschool through high school. Work as
part of a staff team to support the growth of each child and building a relationship
with each family. Reports directly to the Membership Director.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES:
- Sets up age appropriate physical environment to meet the needs of
children – modifiable as age groups change - Plans sports skill stations and daily plans
- Greets children and parents as they arrive
- Interacts with children at all times
- Provides information to parents regarding their child(ren), Y programs and
resources - Puts away equipment at the end of last class
- Reports any equipment safety concerns to supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- TB Clearance
Skills & Knowledge:
- Some knowledge of preschool, school age, and/or high school
participants is preferred. - Some knowledge of working with parents/families preferred
Education & Training:
- Background in sports, coaching, and/or instructing preferred
- First Aid, CPR, AED certification obtained within 3 months of hire
- Completion of various YMCA trainings within the allotted time frame after hire
