Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is for a full-time Special Education Teacher position at the high school level, supporting moderate to severe classrooms. The role is based in Aurora, CO, and involves serving as a case manager responsible for overseeing individualized education plans and maintaining detailed documentation in compliance with Colorado special education requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing case files, paperwork, and compliance documentation with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Providing direct instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in moderate to severe special education classrooms
  • Collaborating with school staff and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Demonstrating flexibility to adapt to classroom needs and support students effectively
  • Ensuring alignment with Colorado Department of Education (CDE) standards and protocols

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience teaching special education in Colorado schools is required
  • Valid Colorado Department of Education teaching license or active CDE application in progress
  • Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on accurate paperwork and case management
  • Ability to work onsite full-time with a flexible approach to classroom responsibilities
  • Familiarity with high school special education practices, particularly in moderate to severe student populations
