HVAC Service Technician

Full-Time | On-Site | Northern NJ

We are currently partnered with a long-established manufacturing organization seeking a skilled HVAC Service Technician to support the maintenance and reliability of facility climate and refrigeration systems. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in technical craftsmanship, problem solving, and ensuring equipment runs safely and efficiently.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration equipment throughout the facility. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to maintaining high performance and safety standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform service, troubleshooting, and repair on HVAC and refrigeration units and related mechanical/electrical components
  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and maintain accurate service documentation
  • Identify and resolve system performance issues to support consistent temperature control and equipment reliability
  • Assist in planning repairs, replacements, and upgrades alongside maintenance leadership
  • Manage and track parts, materials, and tool usage
  • Ensure work areas remain clean, safe, and compliant with facility standards

What We’re Looking For

  • Current HVAC License (NJ preferred, or ability to obtain)
  • 3+ years of hands-on HVAC/refrigeration service experience
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting practices
  • Ability to interpret schematics, service manuals, and control diagrams
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working on rooftops, in mechanical rooms, and other facility environments

  • Diagnostic instruments (multimeters, gauges, leak detectors)
  • Refrigerant recovery & charging systems
  • Hand/power tools and brazing/soldering equipment
  • Airflow and temperature testing instruments
  • Control system interfaces
